World Series Of Poker Must See Moments

For a number of years now, I have been fascinated by the world of poker and all it has to offer. From the obvious draw of financial reward to the psychology of understanding opponents actions, this game now offers enough to become a more socially acceptable pastime.

As far as poker on TV is concerned, there are a number of tournaments televised but none of them really seem to deliver the same level of drama and excitement that the World Series of Poker (WSOP) does.

This festival of poker with more than 50 tournaments reaches it climax as thousands of poker players from all around the world compete to become the world champion and take home the richest prize in the game. Lon McEachern and Norman Chad provide commentary to enhance the table action.

When Hevad Khan entered the WSOP main event in 2007, I doubt he thought that he'd be the centre of tournament controversy resulting in a rule change on how players behave following a winning hand.

Enjoy nearly seven minutes of crazy and hilarious emotional outbursts from the "unmistakable" Hevad Khan as celebrations similar to this are no longer acceptable in the WSOP.

Mike Sexton is a well known announcer but in this clip he proves that he is a world class poker player as well. Mike Matusow's reputation is such that, most players would think he is bluffing more often than not. However, in a situation where there are hundreds of thousands of dollars and the much sought after WSOP bracelet at stake, that call was one of the best I've ever seen.

Daniel Negreanu's reaction to the call is replicated through the crowd of onlookers, while Matusow sits there dumbfounded as he tries to understand what tells he gave away.

Phil Hellmuth is arguably one of the best no limit hold'em players ever to have played poker but to say he has a short fuse would be a bit of an understatement.

Everybody wants to bluff the champ and Dragomir is no different mixing it up with a weak starting hand. Dragomir gets lucky on the flop and when he shows the bluff, Phil starts a tirade of abuse towards his opponent.

Dragomir may have played what many poker fans call a questionable hand but Hellmuths behaviour after the hand was atrocious.

Daniel Negreanu is one of the most popular poker players around as he reads players and lets everybody in on his thought process as he does it.

Daniel is well known for making the right read but still executing the wrong call. In this clip, the Canadien starts by reading two hands and makes the right choice to call and eliminate one player whilst decimating another players stack.

The second part of the clip shows him losing the minimum as he reads his opponents hand from his initial raise. The third part of the clip shows Daniel making an unbelievable read to put his opponent on King-9.

The final part shows a brilliant lay down as Negreanu hits a massive hand on the river but Morris makes an even bigger hand - a fold that even the best poker players would struggle to make.
